WELCOME Mindy Shusterman
DIRECTOR OF ABRAMSON ECEC
WELCOME TO MINDY SHUSTERMAN, NEW ECEC DIRECTOR
Early Childhood Education has always been Mindy’s dream. From the day she entered Kindergarten, at Pine Road Elementary School in Lower Moreland Township, she knew that becoming a teacher was her goal. At the age of 11, she had her first babysitting job which led to years as a CIT, Jr. Counselor, and Counselor at Willow Grove Summer Day Camp. Upon high school graduation, Mindy went on to study Early Childhood Education at Drexel University and Temple University receiving her Bachelor of Sciences in Early Childhood Education from Temple University. Her dream was ready to become her reality.
Over the past 34 years Mindy has followed her dream blending Early Childhood Education with the love of Jewish values and traditions. Mindy has held various positions, some of which were held simultaneously. She has been a Pre-Kg teacher for 23 years, a Mommy-n-Me Facilitator for 5 years, a Religious/Hebrew School teacher for 12 years, an Assistant Director of a Religious School for 3 years, and a Pre-School Director for 3 years. Dreams really can come true!
In her spare time, she even raised her family! Mindy has two grown daughters, Aliyah and Arielle. Mindy recently became a Mom-Mom to Sadie Willow the daughter of Aliyah and her husband Chris. In 2007, Mindy reunited with her High School sweetheart, Michael, and her family grew to include Ashley & Dan, Michael Jr. & Jessica and their son Michael III. Family, Jewish values/traditions and Education are truly the dreams that have come true for Mindy and being the ECEC Director of the Leonard & Madlyn Abramson Early Childhood Community is the natural next step for Mindy’s dreams.
