August 2011
Dear Friends,
Welcome to a new year of adult learning at Tiferet Bet Israel!
We are pleased to offer both popular continuing programs and new ones, from both
familiar and new teachers. Make a long term commitment to learn Hebrew or prepare
for your bar or bat mitzvah. Sample a single session of Lunch and Learn or Beit
Midrash. Sign up for any of our short courses and workshops. I am sure that you
will find something to pique your curiosity and expand your horizons. Programs are
open to members and friends of the TBI community.
Nearly all of our instructors are volunteers from within TBI. Unless indicated in
the course description, there is no charge to participate. Some classes may be limited
in size. As a courtesy, please let us know you’re coming. Pre-register with the
form at the end of this brochure, returning it to

There may be additions to our adult education offerings over the course of the year,
and occasionally a class may be rescheduled. Please check our monthly newsletter,
Ma’aseem, and weekly What’s Nu email bulletins, for the most current information.
Best wishes for a healthy and happy new year.

PS: We hope to offer one or more courses at TBI, taught by educators from Gratz
College. If there is sufficient interest, the course(s) will be offered in late
winter or early spring. Take our survey
to let us know – by October 28 – which classes interest you.
Based on the words of Joshua Ben Perakhya:
"Find a teacher to challenge your answers. Acquire a friend to challenge your questions.
Allow everyone the room to doubt, the ability to challenge opinions, even your own."
