I would like to take this opportunity
to welcome prospective members to Tiferet Bet Israel,
a synagogue where neighborhoods blend together for
study, worship, and social fellowship. TBI is a place
where people of varied backgrounds and histories find
each other and find opportunities to enrich their relationship
with Judaism.
I personally welcome each of you to take
from the musical offerings here what you feel you want
or
need. You may enjoy learning how to read the Torah
or a
selection from the Prophets, a haftara; you may enjoy learning how to chant
a service, how to perform a Chanukah song on a
particular instrument, or any individualized
goal in Jewish music. If you sing, we certainly welcome you into our Adult
Choir, which rehearses briefly on Sundays at noon;
if you enjoy listening, we invite
you to our annual musical concerts. Your children or grandchildren may enjoy
membership in our Religious School Choir or the classes in Chazzanut, the leadership
of our services, held during Religious School sessions.
We all encourage you to visit TBI soon and often. I look forward to greeting
you and welcoming you into our family.
Sincerely,
Bernard Walters
Cantor
